North Shore: My Favorite Coffee Spots

I love a good coffee shop. It’s the perfect place to catch up with a girlfriend, work or enjoy a weekend morning with my family.

Here are my favorite coffee shops in the North Shore to get my oat milk latte fix…

Hometown | Glencoe & Winnetka
A North Shore fixture with two locations in Glencoe and Winnetka. Hometown has La Colombe coffee which is my favorite! When waiting for your order you are given a residential neighborhood streets, in lieu of a number – I love that local touch. They have delicious salads, smoothie bowls and yummy toasts. They also have cocktails on their menu too should your day turn into happy hour! It’s always hard to resist a shookies cookie or Do-Rite Donuts.

Towne & Oak | Winnetka
The interiors are just as dreamy as the food & beverages at this spot! Towne & Oak is bright and happy, an amazing addition to the NS. They offer eat-in service, catering and a gorgeous private event space. My favorite menu items are the macro grain bowl, smashed avocado tartine and breakfast sandwich. It’s one of my favorite spots to catch up with a friend or knock out some work. P.s. you won’t regret getting a chocolate chip cookie there.

Newport Coffee | Evanston
A coffee spot in the heart of Evanston with a very sleek and modern aesthetic, different than the normal spots. Newport Coffee prides themselves on having organic coffee beans and delicious pastries.

Three Tarts Bakery & Cafe | Northfield
An NS staple that carries Big Shoulders coffee. Three Tarts is also an amazing bakery with adorable cookies, delicious pies & custom cakes. They also serve delicious seasonal fare for breakfast and lunch and pride themselves on partnering with local food producers.

Central Station Coffee & Tea | Wilmette
A new addition to Wilmette located in the heart of downtown. Central Station has a wonderful selection of coffee, tea & tasty pastries. The walls are adorned with art from local artists of all ages that is for sale and continuously changes. A great addition to the community!

Backlot | Evanston
The quintessential coffee shop on Central Street in Evanston. They have specialty drinks like an oatmeal cookie latte and a lavender latte. Their donuts & breakfast empanadas are a favorite in our family!

Dollop | Evanston
Another favorite neighborhood spot in Evanston. They have a delicious honey cinnamon latte, can you tell by now I love a good latte? This place gets pretty busy but still has enough seating options (and outlets) for those who are working. Dollop is connected to Hoosier Mama Pie Company.

Glenview Grind | Glenview
Owned by a local family, Glenview Grind serves coffee, smoothies, breakfast, lunch and gelato. They even have a drive-thru, gotta love suburb life for that perk!

Starbucks Reserve | Lake Forest
This post highlights local coffee shops, but the Starbucks Reserve in Lake Forest is worthy of being on this list of favorite places. They have unique Starbucks offerings like affogatos and whisky barrel-aged cold brew. They have an outdoor patio perfect for warmer temperatures.
